From the initial conversation regarding the learning of an international move, this unit dives deep into understanding emotions, feeling the feels, positive attitudes, and more.
This unit discusses the importance of doing homework on the country you are moving to, especially customs, traditions, languages, and holidays. In addition, the notion of acceptance and closure are also discussed, as is controlling what you can control.
From learning about international schools, global travel, getting involved, cultural change, chosen family, sports, the arts, and languages, this unit eases the confusion of daily life when overseas.
This unit teaches the definition of TCKs and the characteristics, traits, positives, and negatives of those who grow up accompanying their parents outside their passport country. It also discusses the lifelong confusion associated with TCKs regarding the ever-confusing concept of home.
The lessons in this unit help explain the repatriation process of when one comes back to their passport country. More than anything, this unit helps explain a different kind of confusion when visiting or moving back "home."
This unit summarizes the journey of international living and emphasizes that those who grow up this way (TCKs) are not better or worse than anyone else, just lucky.

When I was seven years old, my family made a move internationally that would not only change my perception of “home” but also start me on a lifelong path of understanding people and cross-cultural meaning. Having spent the last 30-plus years living, working, and traveling internationally, I still think and feel like a global citizen because that’s who I am and will always be. I’m a proud Third Culture Kid (TCK) that understands the ups, downs, and everything else regarding overseas living.
Through humor, empathy, and real talk, I work with clients of all ages who are acclimating internationally as well as repatriating back to their passport country. In addition to consulting, I speak, write, and podcast candidly about my own stories, and the stories of others, regarding growing up globally.
